WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL SITE

An immortal Aztec and his teen protégé race against a fascist mercenary to find the scattered pages of a magical codex that threatens to destroy the world.

The Story

Mexico is a beautiful place, but it’s also full of darkness. Our story takes place during a war, and today…things aren’t all that different.

Every day, we are pushed to make worse and worse decisions by our environment. And each one of them can scar us for life.

However, our scars don’t define us.

Most of us still have a choice. And choosing to be good in a violent world is never easy… But it is still possible to redeem ourselves.

Meet the Characters

Dalia

Objective: Avenge the death of her family.

Character Arc: She’ll learn that violence only breeds violence. The best she can do is let go and live her life to the fullest.

She comes from the same bloodline as Teo. Her family used to protect a piece of the Codex, until they were killed by Timotheus. He would have killed her too, had his gun not jammed. She has sworn to kill him with the same bullet that was meant for her.

To survive, she learned to steal and con her way out of bad situations. However, she hasn’t killed anyone. In Teo, she’ll find the loving father that she lost. He’ll train her and help her hone her skills as a gunslinger.

An immortal Aztec warlock born during the Spanish Conquest. His mother turned him into a GEIST to protect the Codex, but he failed to do so and fled. Teo avoids transforming, as it fills him with bloodlust.

For centuries, he has wandered the world, avoiding his responsibility to find the Codex. After learning that it is still out there, Teo seizes the opportunity to redeem himself for his biggest mistake.

TIMOTHEUS

Objective: Recover the Codex to bring his family back from the dead.

Character Arc: He’ll understand that nothing can’t bring them back and that his quest has only led him to more misery. Timotheus was an occultist researcher during The Great War.

He found a piece of the Codex Borgia while trying to create a super soldier. He created the first GEIST, but the artifact took the lives of his wife and daughter as a sacrifice.

Showing these creatures to his hire-ups got him a trip to Mexico to find the rest of the Codex. The Mexican government thought he was hiring mercenaries, though in reality he is just searching for the Codex. If the legend is true, he might bring his family back from the dead.

Bernard

Objective: To protect the town that has given him a second chance.

Character Arc: Bernard will die a martyr; he’ll die for his cause.

Bernard sailed to America to escape from a life of poverty in the UK. On that ship, he met the immortal Teo. The two became friends, and Teo even saved his life at one point.  Once they arrived to America, the two friends parted ways. Bernard was ready to leave his old life behind and turn into a new man. Unfortunately, he found a worst faith in the New World. Desperate to eat, he became a ruthless outlaw murdering and stealing on the Mexican-American border. But after being left for dead by his “crew,” he was saved by a Jesuit priest. Slowly, he started to change. Instead of killing natives, he started to learn from their culture. Today, he has become a priest himself and is willing to die for the town that gave him a second chance at life.

Panzer

Character Arc: The heir of a wealthy family, Alexander Hermann, lost it all when his Polished mother abandoned him and stole his inheritance. From a life of riches to rags, Alexander's hatred against foreigners grew. His racism finally made him join the Labor Party, where he met Timotheus and his Zuberwaffen.

Desperate to make a change, he volunteered himself to be turned into a super soldier under the Project Panzer experiment, which was sort of successful. Alexander lost his mind; the only thing he could feel now was hate. He is an unreasonable beast that will destroy anyone that’s not of the Aryan race—the perfect soldier.

Lore

We’ll focus on some parts of the Aztec myth to avoid overwhelming our audience with lore and history. Here’s all you need to know:

Nahuales/GEISTS are half-human, half-monster creatures that can transform at will. They aren’t immortal, but they extend their lifespans by consuming mortal souls. When they do, they also absorb their sins and regrets. GEISTS can sense nearby pieces of the Codex.

The Codex Borgia is a real ancient ritual artifact. In our show, it can create more GEISTS. However, it requires a blood sacrifice to do so.

It was torn to pieces to keep the Spanish from seizing it. When all the pieces are together, the holder will be able to open a portal between worlds. If that happens, creatures from Hell will roam the Earth.

Our World

GEIST takes place on an alternate Earth. Magic is real, and has therefore advanced technology. World War I drove the world into developing weapons far too powerful for their time.

It also pushed governments to find unique ways to merge magic and technology. After the War, that research continued. The Germans made progress with an Aztec artifact called the Codex Borgia.

Pieces of the Codex Borgia are scattered across the Jalisco highlands in Mexico. Right now, the country is fighting the Cristero War, a war for freedom of religion.

Episode 1

Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

Teo, seeking to atone for his sins, tries to apologize to the descendants of those he killed. He arrives in a town haunted by a mysterious monster that’s killing the Cristeros. The priest thinks it's Teo, and offers a reward for his head.

Dalia, a street urchin, decides to hunt Teo herself. As he apologizes to a man for killing his family, Dalia attacks him, but soon enough the two find the real monster: the priest, who is a GEIST like Teo. After defeating him, Teo and Dalia find a piece of the Codex Borgia.

Episode 2

On the Radar

Teo and Dalia flee the town, unable to explain to the townsfolk that the priest was the monster. Teo tries to distance himself from Dalia, but the teenager has no other place to go.

Our heroes reach the town of Arandas, where an old friend of Teo, Bernard (another priest), offers them help. Bernard has a map to some pieces of the Codex, but it’s not for free: he needs help taking out a mercenary post in a nearby village. He knows for sure that there is a piece of the Codex in there. Meanwhile, a German mercenary troop arrives in the old town. They find one of their GEISTS slaughtered and start a manhunt for Teo.

Episode 3

call to arms

The Mexican president has gathered mercenary leaders to make a deal: whoever takes care of the Cristeros will earn an extra bounty. Timotheus, the leader of the German troop, is threatened by a Mexican mercenary; in retaliation, Timotheus orders one of his GEISTS to brutally murder the leader’s bodyguard.

A rivalry begins. While Bernard and Teo negotiate, Dalia spots a German mercenary scout and attempts to shoot him, but fails. Having been found out, Teo accepts the mission in a rush and takes Dalia with him. Bernard tells them the map will be waiting for them on the cross.

Episode 4

The hunt

To avoid any surprises, Teo decides to train Dalia, teaching her what he knows. Her first mission is to hunt for food. After her third day of travel, she finally succeeds. Their friendship grows stronger.

Meanwhile, Timotheus's army takes over Bernard’s town. He tortures Bernard, but the priest says nothing. The Mexican mercenary laughs at Timotheus for not even being able to gather information. The Mexican decides to torture a Cristero instead, and the poor fella breaks and gives them the location of our heroes. The mercenary leaves, still taunting Timotheus; the German mobilizes most of his troops to where Teo and Dalia are.

Episode 5

Berserk

Teo and Dalia arrive at the village and, soon enough, find the base. It’s barely protected. The two scientists working there were experimenting with kids, trying to turn them into GEISTS.

The couple liberates the failed experiments and makes them fight Teo. Overwhelmed, Teo lets himself lose control and goes berserk, almost killing Dalia; she manages to talk him out of his rage. After the fight, the villagers hand the Codex over to our heroes as a thank-you gift. Once everything seems alright, Timotheus arrives with his troops.

Episode 6

Scars for life

Timotheus raids the village, searching for the Codex. His army is ready to take over the place. Teo wants to flee with the Codex, but Dalia insists that they must stay to help. What she really wants is revenge. She and Teo part ways.

Dalia finds the scientists from the previous episode trying to escape. She kills them… leaving their daughter an orphan. In shock, Dalia is about to be killed by her enemies, but is barely rescued by Teo. He lost the Codex to come back for her. Timotheus finds the Codex in the hands of a little girl. She looks just like his deceased daughter. He kills her and takes the Codex from her corpse.

Episode 7

Back to Hell

Dalia tries to cope with what she did, while Teo seeks to reassure her. “We all have scars,” he says, “but you can’t let those scars define you.” Teo and Dalia are back at Bernard’s town. It has been taken over. Even worse, the mercenaries are planning to publicly execute the priest in front of the church.

Timotheus is closer to opening the portal to the underworld. The Mexican mercenary meets him once again and congratulates him for his success on his last mission, but believes he deserves a cut of the profits from helping him out.
The Mexican points a gun at him: his days in Mexico are numbered.

Episode 8

The plan

Teo and Dalia meet up with the Cristero rebels. Maybe if Teo had helped more with the war, things would be different…

Teo and Dalia hatch a plan with the rebels. While the Cristeros take the city, our heroes will try to save Bernard, their leader. Timotheus fights the Mexican mercenaries. With the help of his GEIST, he is able to control his adversaries. He then prepares the ritual to create a new GEIST.
He sacrifices most of his enemies to transform the Mexican mercenary into a new beast. The man who once threatened him is now his loyal puppet.

Episode 9

The Break-in

The Cristeros attack the town. Teo and Dalia sneak in and run straight into the church. Meanwhile, Timotheus escapes with Bernard into the church. He gives the priest one last chance to tell him where the rest of the pieces are. The priest spits on his face.

Teo battles Timotheus’s main bodyguard, and with the help of Dalia they are able to defeat him. Desperate, Timotheus orders his new GEIST to kill Bernard. Our heroes arrive too late. Witnessing his friend's death, Teo goes berserk once again. Everything seems hopeless for our heroes, but Dalia remembers Bernard’s words from Episode 2. After some searching, she finds the map, but Timotheus is right behind her.

Episode 10

DEATH

While Teo fights the new GEIST, Dalia struggles with Timotheus over the map. Teo is badly hurt and is soon defeated by his opponent. Dalia gets the upper hand on Timotheus, but hesitates and doesn’t kill him. This gives him an opening to knock her out. Unconscious, Dalia bleeds on the map, revealing the location of the rest of the Codex pieces. Timotheus decides to spare the teenager and takes her with him.

Our heroes have lost… But when the mercenaries try to search for Teo’s body…There is none. We see Teo being saved by the man he apologized to in the first episode.
There is still hope…
